LIVE, LOVE, and LEAD like Jesus

When we say this what we mean is,

LIVE

Living like Christ means we are intentionally connected to God and actively sharing our life and faith with those around us.

Luke 19:10

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

LOVE

Loving like Christ, we love God with everything we are and have while sharing the extravagant love of God with those around us.

Mark 12:30-31

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

LEAD

Leading like Christ, we invite those around us to serve with us as we continue to discover who God is and how he profoundly transforms our lives.

John 5:19

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”

Matt 20:26-28

“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Connect - Open - Real - Expectant - Sent

This speaks into the culture of our church. As great as our Vision is and intentional our actions are, we want to create an environment where our hearts are aligned. This means that when we do things we aim to take our church deeper in these avenues so that it’s more than things getting done, but rather hearts being refined.

C

Connected

with God, each other and the world, therefore we live connected, love connected and lead connected. At Connect we prioritise relationships with people and with God first.

O

Open

to doing things differently; to people (of any age, background, circumstance) experiencing the transforming love of God.

R

Real

authentic in our love of God, having integrity in our actions, honest in our shortcomings, doing what we say and saying what we do.

E

Expectant

believing that God has plans to transform all aspects of life and that He wants to share those plans and partner with us to accomplish them.

S

Sent

recognising that Jesus’ command to “Go” applies to all of us; we minister, support and equip people to be the church wherever they have been placed/called and we hold people loosely so they too have the freedom to be released and sent whether that is within Connect Church or further.
